This article only applies to VisualForce calendars.
For filter configuration on Lightning calendars, see Calendar Filters.
For more information on the difference between VisualForce and Lightning= calendars, see Calendar Differences.<= /p>
On VisualForce calendars, you can customize how the calendar dimensions = (i.e. staff or resources) are filtered. You can create visible filters whic= h can be adjusted by users on the calendar. You can also create hidden filt= ers which are not visible to your users and therefore always apply.
You can define a filter that checks for the value of a checkbox (or chec= kbox formula). Optionally, checkbox filters can be hidden from the calendar= so that they always apply, and users won=E2=80=99t see any records that do= n=E2=80=99t meet the filter criterium.
Go to the appropriate Calendar config record.
On the Related subtab, create a new Filterable Field.
For =E2=80=98Filterable Name=E2=80=99, fill in the API name of a checkbo=
x that exists on the Resource (or other dimension) sObject.
This can also be the API name of a checkbox formula, which allows you to cr=
eate your own conditions.
Leave all other fields to their default values.
Save the record.
Choose a =E2=80=98Default Checkbox Value=E2=80=99 to set a default. This= value can still be changed by the users on the calendar, unless you choose= hide this filter.
Check =E2=80=98Hide from Calendar=E2=80=99 to make this filter invisible= from the users on the calendar. This means the filter will always apply an= d can=E2=80=99t be changed by your calendar users.
Click on the filter icon in the top left of the calendar.
In the section =E2=80=98Custom Filter Fields=E2=80=99, the checkbox filt= er will appear as a dropdown.
Select a value, and click =E2=80=98Apply and Close=E2=80=99 in the botto=
m right of the filter panel.
Select =E2=80=98N/A=E2=80=99 if you want to disable the filter.
The calendar is now filtered.
You can define a filter that checks for a value in a lookup field on the= displayed dimensions. Say you have an organization with multiple buildings= , and you only want to show one building at a time. You can do this by crea= ting a lookup filter on the resource =E2=80=98Parent=E2=80=99 field.
Unfiltered calendar:
Go to the appropriate Calendar config record.
On the Related subtab, create a new Filterable Field.
For =E2=80=98Filterable Name=E2=80=99, fill in the API name of a lookup = that exists on the Resource (or other dimension) sObject.
Leave all other fields to their default values.
Save the record.
Click on the filter icon in the top left of the calendar.
In the section =E2=80=98Custom Filter Fields=E2=80=99, the lookup filter= will now be visible.
Start typing in the lookup field, and a list of suggestions appears.
=After selecting a value, click =E2=80=98Apply and Close=E2=80=99 in the = bottom right of the filter panel.
The calendar is now filtered.
If the lookup filter does not show a list of suggestions, this could be = due to a known issue which can be solved by creating a tab for the object t= hat the lookup refers to.
